Today marks a special occasion. It is an occasional more momentous than yesterday, but less momentous than tomorrow. We wait for the results of Roger's final accounting examination. We wait... and we drink.
Oh how wonderful a thing wine is.
As my mother and her wise sisters say, "wine is cheaper than therapy". Right now we're very much into red - Valpolicella Ripasso to be precise. It's a robust Italian wine with a subtle aftertaste. Its light acidity lingers in your throat and the bouquet is quite exquisite. Oh, and the legs... don't get me started on the legs. Haha. It's lovely because it goes straight to your toes and leaves nothing of this headache nonsense. (Do not quote me on this - please indulge at your own discretion). My boyfriend, Roger, has been stressed for a few weeks preparing for the news of his exam and sometimes a little grown-up grape juice is necessary for a restful night of sleep. We have decided that we are not going to talk about tomorrow. We are not going to contemplate on what might and might not be. We have our bottle of rouge and we are going to sip it and zip it. He's honestly one of the smartest guys I know; he might be drinking to relax, but I believe I am drinking just because. I have all the faith in the world.
