Life Update & 2015 Resolutions

We're six days into the new year and I'm so happy to be writing again. A LOT has happened in 2014 that I am truly thankful for. The last few weeks have been crazy, hectic, exciting, and a little stressful at times. If you've read a few of my last posts, Roger and I put our house up for sale and have been keeping it clean 24/7 for private showings and open houses. We're crossing our fingers that we can seal the deal on an offer that was placed yesterday. We're in love with a fixer-upper home in a new city and we can't wait to make it our own. Patience, lightning-speed vacuuming, and heavenly-scented candles have defined our lives. In addition to the pending sale of our home, I am so happy to announce that I'm commencing a new job next Monday!! I've been actively trying to transition to a new role since the summer and my search sped up considerably when Roger accepted a job in September. Me starting fresh means we can carpool together until we settle permanently. Not only am I thrilled to be advancing upwards in my career, I anticipate learning a lot from the experience and from the people I'll be working with. The cherry on top is that I get my own office--it's a pretty big deal for me! For now I am revelling in the joy of home-brewed tea every two hours, the luxury of being able to study in my fuzzy slippers, and the ability to reflect peacefully on the happenings of 2014. Peaceful reflection calls for the use of a plethora of coloured markers, does it not? Last year was truly amazing. I travelled to New York City (twice!), got engaged to the love of my life, turned 25, drove through the Rockies and vacationed in B.C., had a ton of fun renovating our house, and of course spent quality time with my best friends and family.  I have equally happy thoughts for a stellar 2015. There are so many things that I want to do (plan a beautiful wedding without crossing into Bridezilla territory, have the most romantic honeymoon ever, renovate another house, excel at my job, keep in touch for with the people that matter most), but more importantly, there are so many things I want to BE. 2015 Resolutions I, Britney, resolve in 2015 to always strive to be lovely and full of heart. Towards others I will be enthusiastic, generous, thoughtful, reliable, supportive, appreciative, punctual, and kind. For myself, I will be happy, productive, creative, optimistic, organized, well-read, active, and ambitious. To my love, I will be romantic, loyal, open-minded, extra loving, bright, and adventurous. The karma that I create will be the best kind of karma. I will read at least 12 novels, I will visit more than 4 countries, and I will change my last name.
