How to Clean a Coach Purse

I adore my COACH "Poppy" purse, but sadly this love soon manifested itself with dirt and grime. Years of use made my beloved bag look haggard and uncared for. It was time for a cleaning. After searching for tips online, I decided to do what I do best... not follow any instructions at all!

I refused to spend money on dry-cleaning or expensive cleaners, so I grabbed some household items and hoped for the best. I want to share my tutorial with you because a.) it was super easy to do, b.) it was cheap, and c.) it worked!

All you need is:

A toothbrush

Dawn dish soap

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Sept 18 - Before the Clean

See the icky dirt spots of the bottom of the bag? Those had to go!

Sept 18 - DIY

First I used an old toothbrush to apply dish soap to the affected areas (AKA pretty much my entire bag)!

Sept 18 - Mr Clean

Next I wet a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bath Scrubber with water and scrubbed the fabric in a circular motion.

Sept 18 - In Progress

Scrub, scrub, scrub. Apply more dish soap. Brush it in with the toothbrush. Wet the scrubber. Scrub some more. Scrub until your arm is tired and the bag is clean.

Sept 18 - Ew

It will go from that...

Sept 18 - Wonderful

... to this!

Sept 18 - Clean Purse

Good as new and I didn't spend a penny!
The mixture of Dawn dish soap and Mr. Clean also works on the satin liner--the inside of my bag is shiny and new again too! 🙂
