I'm feeling slightly spoiled lately. My birthday is not until the end of March, but I'm being showered with gifts already. Lucky me!
It was only a matter of time before I acquired me some Days of the Week socks. Roger's cousin, Sara, came to visit me this weekend and brought with her my birthday present: an abundance of wonderful socks! Not only was blessed with seven pairs of socks, she threw in some other festive numbers (how cute are the panda bears?) as well as a pretty infinity scarf.
Banana socks! I will sport these on top of leggings one day, just you wait and see.
I'm so lucky to have people in my life that know me so well and are so thoughtful! Last Sunday, my cousin Tiffani gifted to me a tea pot (how did she know ours was leaky?), Scottish Breakfast tea (how fitting for our heritage), a box of gluten-free and peanut-free biscotti (a dessert I have never tried before), a dog sign (the one I thought I ordered when I ordered it too small) and a warm fuzzy throw blanket for our living room.
Roger's mom also came to visit me yesterday and brought me a gift certificate to Chapters and a nice bottle of red wine. I will have no problem making good use of both gifts, perhaps simultaneously.
What made my weekend even better was receiving a card in the mail from my Oma and Opa. They are so sweet; the card is absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
I woke up sick today (runny nose, can't breathe, ear ache, chills--blah!) and thank goodness it's a Sunday. Despite feeling under the weather, I'm so happy to be sitting in my bright living room surrounded by lots of feelings of love and the gifts that have made my weekend so much better. This is my happy place; these are my happy socks...
... and this is my happy dog. He has been equally as grateful for the friendly visits as I am.
Goodbye for now. I'm off to make some soup!
