OOTD: A Simple Black Mini, Crop Top, and Boots

This holiday season, I may have sneakily picked up a few things on my wishlist without waiting for Santa. It's hard to resist adding a little something extra to my cart when I'm gift shopping for others, especially when that something is 40% off. I wrapped up my Christmas shopping on Saturday and I'm proud to say that I ONLY bought myself 3 things in the process: a strawberry lipgloss, a rose-embroidered tablecloth, and this cute green crop top! I have the day off today (insert jumping jacks here), so I played around with some holiday looks. I absolutely love how this simple black mini-skirt is just high-waisted enough to show what I consider to be an appropriate amount of tummy. Bare legs with a crop top would be a no-no for winter, but the long sleeves make this outfit conservative enough to brave the cold. Paired with a gold statement necklace, I would definitely wear this to a holiday party with friends. IMG_0034 IMG_0048

OOTD: Stripes, Short Shorts & Keds

Happy Tuesday! It rained for most of the day and I couldn't be bothered with wearing anything too nice (or at least nice enough to document), so I shall share with you one of my favourite outfits from a couple of weeks back. I'm beyond thrilled at my purchase of a new pair of Keds sneakers and I find myself sporting them at every casual opportunity. (Mostly dogwalks and grocery shops of late.) Originally I wanted the white eyelet lace ones, but I compromised and bought them in navy in hopes that they will stay cleaner for longer. Don't be surprised if I buy them in white in the very near future though; I think they'd look absolutely wondrous with faded ankle-length skinny jeans! Easy, breezy, and comfortable... I'll definitely be wearing this again this summer. June 7 - Weird face I just freakin' adore these shorts. Love. Love. Love. They're a wee bit cheeky, but that's why I'm choosing to wear them at age 25 and not 40. One day I will miss the bum that fits into such a pair 😉 June 7 - Casual clothes June 7 - Backside I hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday! Ours was a bit uneventful despite a good workout at the gym and multiple teas at home in our comfies. Let's cross our fingers for nothing but sunshine and excitement for the rest of the week! OOTD: Teal Takeover

This post highlights the outfit I wore last Thursday. It's an unconventional creation as I chose to layer a heavy peplum top over one of my favourite sundresses. Had I been going anywhere else but work, I would have simply worn the spaghetti strap dress; however, covering my shoulders was of utmost importance. My modest upper half allowed me to accentuate the best part about this ensemble: my teal shoes! I got my hair highlighted over the weekend for the first time in a year, which I'm having mixed feelings about already. My stylist did a fantastic job and I absolutely love being a brighter blonde, but my hair is so healthy and au natural here--I might miss the ombre look! OOTD: Floral Everything and Musings on Mom Jeans

SO MY FLORAL OBSESSION HAS REACHED A WHOLE NEW LEVEL TODAY! I'm definitely starting to feel the effects of how colourful my outfit is. I'm also a little hopped up on caffeine, sunshine, and happiness because it's my day off! I recently purchased a floral skort (yes, a skort) and matching flowy top from DailyLook and I am IN LOVE with the ensemble. It's matchy-matchy and simply amazing. My mom had a similar outfit in the early 90s (see photo below.) She was feeling under the weather in this picture, but I'm sharing it anyways because she still looks super pretty. July 4 - Mom Oh, how I love that the 90s look is coming back! Oh, how I wish my mom had kept ALL of her clothing. My fellow girls--do you remember watching the Oprah show about "mom jeans" with your mom in the early 2000s? Mom jeans were the ultimate embarrassment to teenage girls everywhere. Daughters united and lobbied to abolish high-waist, flat-bum mom jeans in favour of low-rise flares and skinnies. Now mom jeans are making a comeback and I am so sorry for the forced intervention and the clothing giveaway trips that ensued. Now I have to buy the same faded jeans for three times the price. Fashion is funny that way. July 4 - Colourful July 4 - Flower July 4 - Outside July 4 - With dog
