OOTD: Island Party Style

Hola! Back to reality for this girl. This past weekend we attended a surprise birthday party for one of Roger's good buddies and got to spend Saturday afternoon and evening on a beautiful island. Activities involved soaking up the sunshine, day-drinking, eating way too many Cheetos, and playing Pickle Ball--a game which reminded me a bit of tennis and badminton combined. This weekend also happened to mark the official first day of summer! To celebrate the occasion, this is what I wore: June 22 - Back June 22 - Outfit June 22 - Polka Dot June 22 - I need a tan June 22 - River

OOTD: Michael Kors Strappy Leather Sandals

Oh Monday, here yet again. I hope you all made it through the day after what was a beautiful weekend! I woke up at 5:30am for work this morning and didn't have the energy to put on heels (or even lipstick for that matter.) On the days I'm up this early I literally get dressed in the dark, so Roger can catch an extra few winks before his alarm. Talk about me being a stellar fiancee, I know! This Monday I went for the laid back look to suit my mood. That meant a maxi skirt, the black cotton top I wear all the time, and flat footwear. The shoes take the cake for making this outfit--how wonderful are these Michael Kors strappy sandals? They're made of real leather, which makes them super comfy to wear. I'm absolutely obsessed with ankle straps this season! OOTD: Denim & Floral

Happiest Friday!! I have the day off and I can't wait to travel home to see my family for the weekend! So far some pretty exciting plans are in the works: The boys are going golfing on Saturday morning, so I'll be spending some quality time with my mom! We're celebrating Father's Day on Saturday evening--wine, wine, and more wine! My friend, Atheana, is having a tea party themed bridal shower on Sunday. Now I'm just biding my time, waiting for Roger to come home from work so we can hit the road. It's a 4 hour drive to home, but worth every mile. Today's outfit of the day features a comfy summer romper with a denim vest atop. Perfect for a car trip with the windows down! 🙂 June 7 - Side June 7 - Silly June 7 - Summery June 7 - Outside Have a lovely afternoon!

OOTD: Business Casual Vintage Edition

So I was pretty ecstatic about what I wore to work on Monday and I meant to post pictures that evening; however, I got caught up in a blur of work obligations, dentist appointments, and newsletter editing. What day is it again? Oh, right--Tuesday. I suppose it's only been a day, but yesterday feels so very long ago! In regards to my outfit, it was simple and classy and timeless all in one. I paired a super conservative black and white wool skirt with a plain black t-shirt and the best shoes ever. The best part? The skirt is pre-loved and totally vintage! I am all about wardrobe recycling lately. This patterned knee-length skirt is one of my favourite finds from my mom's closet--she wore it in the workplace back in 1985 and it's truly wonderful. The only downside is that it doesn't have a slit in the back, so I could only separate my knees a small amount while walking. I suppose ladies in the 80s were not meant to power stride. I kept thinking how sorry I'd be if someone tried to chase me or if it started raining. A small sacrifice for fashion? June 10 - Mom Skirt I apologize for how blurry the previous photo is--my camera was in video mode and silly me, I didn't notice until after-the-fact. June 10 - Mirror Pic June 10 - Close up Thank you to the 80s for creating this magnificent piece of clothing and to my mom for a.) keeping it all these years and b.) being the same size as me! Happy.... Tuesday? Goodnight loves!
